J. Scott Campbell drew this a little while back for one of the Paris comic-con Banners. They asked for a Sci-Fi character and a Fantasy character. This is the Sci-Fi character. I decided to give her a name, Up until now she was just known as Sci-Fi girl... And since she's not a real character, I made up the color scheme as well. Just over 5 hours inking and 4 hours coloring.
It worked I wouldn't of said it unless I meant it. The material on the suit feels very different then everything else. I think thats one of a colorists jobs to convey the feeling of different materials and textures in an image, wether it be something that is matted os something that has more luster.
oh, that is definitely one of the jobs as a colorist and one that's not very easily accomplished. You kinda have to memorize how each texture would look and how to apply that in comic form. It takes time.
